It's a phenomenal achievement for a young lady of that age, and she obviously has the mental toughness to go with the talent to win many more.

However, to be the greatest sporting achievement of all time by a Brit, it would had to have included beating an all time great along the way. If she beat a Steffi Graf, or a Williams, then fair enough, but I bet hardly any of you remember the names of anyone she beat along the way.

Take nothing away, as I say an amazing achievement, but let's be honest before claiming it's the best sporting achievement ever.

Brentford

One of the greatest sporting achievements of anyone in any sport Brit or not.

The Queen sent her a message so she's got the Royal endorsement.

Will be the most successful British tennis player of all time. Mark my words.

Possibly the greatest sporting achievement ever by a Brit?

Yes 100% from her PR team.

I thought her whole box laughing like nutters and trying to get her to smile was very odd too, especially as I hadn't seen one smile from her the whole match. Not a criticism of her as she just seemed very focused as you would expect

I thought the way she held her serve against the championship points showed incredible guts.

Westside, in fairness to Sven he has to be fickle on these matters as he has to try to protect his ever dwindling attempt at being a genuine Australia the Fauxstralian cunt that he is……

Fernandez working herself into a strop whilst Raducanu sat quietly and focused herself was so funny. Is it only me who thought Fernández bit about New York and 9/11 at the end seemed scripted, insincere and trying to get the US crowd onside for future tournaments?

Nice to see Piers Morgan squirming and trying to avoid eating a large portion of humble pie after calling her out at Wimbledon for being weak and not being able to handle the pressure, this of course after he walked out and quit GMB after somebody upset him

As far as I can see, there’s only one person questioning her Britishness. The same person who keeps calling the sport gay, so he’s Xenophobic as well as Homophobic.

Re: The 2021 U.S. Open
She is British.

Ben Stokes, born in NZ, comes to England aged 12. Nobody seems to mind his birthplace, when accepting his Englishness.

Except Sven of course, who will tag Stokes, as Kiwi Stokes.

Whilst never adding the prefix Saffa, when talking about Labuschagne

An 18-year old British girl won the US Open last night by playing some outstanding tennis and represented her country incredibly well.

Anyone who sees it any other way is a moron.

If I'm not mistaken, nobody has mentioned the colour of her skin except those falsely claiming that there are racists posting here.

Great opportunity for race baiting as well, if you're the sort of sad cunt who likes using the colour of people's skin when it suits.

The power and accuracy of the shots last night was up there with the Williams at their best. Absolutely delighted for her. Broke so many records but all you lot care about is the first two years of her life. Strange sad bunch

Manuel - Fucking hell it was tongue in cheek.

Unlike others I understand this is a chat forum if I post something I'm not surprised if someone asks about it or replies.

Unlike some other cunts who post and when you reply call others stalkers. Surely it's the whole point of the forum.. Well that and calling each other cunts and arguing about the same shit for all eternity

Btw, asking you if you liked anything about Australia is being an ''inquisitive buggar'', and by this sites standards!? Fucking hell. You're a bit fucking delicate, son. Lighten up :-)

Re: The 2021 U.S. Open
Nothing wrong with her interview it was the arguing in her earshot for the mandatory break.

Oh and you've asked me about it loads of times..

I've always slated them when it comes to sport.

I've also slated other aspects of it, I also slate things here. Or are most people deliriously happy about where they live and have no problems with the shit they get in everyday life?

Re: The 2021 U.S. Open
You are always slating Australia, and this is the first time I have ever mentioned it, so yea of course you knew, ffs.

Anyway, I hope next time Layleh is interviewed just after losing a grand slam final she behaves a lot more suitably, in line with your lofty expectations.

Morning/Afternoon Manuel - I knew you'd ask that, inquisitive buggar aren't you :-)

Nope not at all, love a lot about Australia, Aussie sportsman on the other hand are more often than not bad losers and the fans are worse.

13 years of them getting in your face everytime they win, it will be the headlines on the news.. When they lose it barely merits a mention.. For instance I was on holiday there while the 2002 ashes were on and couldn't go anywhere in Melbourne without being dug out about it.

I emigrated in 2005 the day before we won the Ashes, nobody in Melbourne was interested in cricket it was an AFL city.. It was unimportant... Till they regarded them and then same again.

It's just the way they are as a nation when it comes to sport they're like the jocks they will support anyone against us, so I was the same in return.

Anything else you'd like to know just ask :-)
